How to Store Broken iPhone Screens So They Keep Their Grade

Most shops lose grade before they ever pack a box. A pull comes off a repair with a clean image and full touch, gets dropped in the "broken screens" drawer, and sits there for three weeks under a stack of other pulls, a spudger, and half a roll of tape. By the time it ships, the image has a pressure mark it did not have on day one. Nothing happened in transit. It happened on the shelf.

Why a shelf is not neutral

The display layer under the glass is either OLED (iPhone X and up) or an incell LCD (11, XR, the SE line). Do not stack bare panels, even for a day
A single afternoon of bare stacking rarely shows up as damage right away, which is exactly why the habit survives in busy shops. The mark builds with repeat contact: a screwdriver tip resting on a panel for an hour, a phone case corner pressing into the glass every time the drawer slides shut, another pull dropped on top before the first one is wrapped. None of these events look like damage happening. All of them are.
If a pull has to sit for more than a day before it is sleeved, prop it upright in a slot rather than laying it flat under anything. Upright storage in a rack or a divided box removes the two failure modes at once: nothing rests on the face, and nothing can be stacked on top of it later without someone noticing.
Sort as pulls come in, not the night before you ship

Keep rejects physically separate, not just mentally noted
A dead panel or an aftermarket copy sitting in the same bin as sellable pulls costs you twice. First, someone has to re-sort it out before shipping, which is the exact rushed moment that causes mistakes. Second, a dead or aftermarket panel offers no cushioning of its own and no reason to be handled carefully, so it becomes the thing another panel gets stacked on. Give rejects their own box the moment they are identified, even if you plan to recycle or return them later rather than deal with it immediately.
Label the bin, not just the pull
A drawer full of unlabelled pulls invites two mistakes: mixed models get paired at packing time with an overhang that presses into the smaller panel, and nobody can tell at a glance how much of a model is on hand without unwrapping everything. Label each bin or divider by model, and note the working split (glass-only versus image fault) on the outside.
